Dear Mustangs Swim Team Families,

Thank you for signing your boys and girls up for the 2023 Swim Team! We’d like to
provide some additional information to help you navigate the season.

After many discussions and consulting with the American Red Cross, the Atlanta Swim Association, our friends at Dynamo Swim Club, and other Summer League Swim Team coaches, we have decided to delay the start of practice until Wednesday, May 10^th. Recent temperatures have not been warm enough to get the pool to the temperature range recommended to avoid unnecessary discomfort to our swimmers. We are hopeful that following the forecasted 80-degree days early next week the water will reach a more acceptable temperature. We apologize for the change in the schedule as we want to ensure the best experience for all our swimmers.

On Wednesday, practice will consist of on-deck time for the Coaches to provide information on the season as well as some time in the water. Your swimmers should come to practice prepared to swim with a swimsuit, goggles, and a towel. Our bulk order of team suits was received yesterday, and the suits are available for pickup at the Athletic Center Front Desk. We will have goggles available
for purchase if needed.

Towels and goggles ordered during registration will be distributed Wednesday when you arrive for practice. Each swimmer will also receive a latex swim cap and drawstring backpack at that time. Team t-shirts are in production and we expect them to be delivered in early June.

We are working on an updated plan for Specialty Stroke Clinics this season. Once that is finalized we will communicate the dates and times via email. Signups for these clinics are available on the Club Calendar in the Member Portal of the HBCC website or HBCC Mobile App.

Team pictures are scheduled for the morning of June 20^th during practice.

information regarding Swim Team! All Swim Team communications will be sent through SwimTopia. Your family created an account during registration, simply login with the same information. SwimTopia also offers a mobile app! It is available for Apple and Android devices, please download the app to stay up to date with notifications from the Coaches and Team Administrators. The app features a live event and heat bar so you can follow the action from the deck or even if you’re not at the meet! To login to the app, simply use the same login and password you created for the website.

The practice schedule and meet schedule are available on the site, along with other useful information. The meet schedule is found in the Meets & Events tab, Signup Calendar: https://swimhbcc.swimtopia.com/swim_meets. You will use this page to declare your swimmers’ availability for meets, and to sign up to volunteer. Please let us know your swimmers’ status for each meet in advance so we may plan the week’s roster. Any undeclared swimmers will be assumed not to be participating that
week. We will send reminders as meets approach. We need lots of volunteers for each meet, both home and away, to ensure meets run smoothly and on time! Buttons for meet declaration and volunteer sign-ups are to the right of each event.

Returning swimmers will see familiar faces on our coaching staff this year, as we are happy to have Ailis, Brendan, Regan, Allison, and Luke all returning as coaches! We are excited to have all of them back and look forward to a great season!
